Region 8 Band Festival

The advent of Spring brings with it the annual Region 8 Band Festival, this year, April 5-6, 2019.  This adjudication marks the end of a long period of preparation and practice for area bands and their directors as the present two musical selections from a list approved by the West Virginia Bandmasters' Association.  These selections are then critiqued by a panel of three judges, and scores are assigned.  High schools and middle schools from Barbour, Braxton, Lewis, Pocahontas, Randolph, Tucker, Upshur, and Webster Counties are scheduled to perform in the auditorium of Philip Barbour High School.  Spectators are welcome to cheer on these talented students and teachers.  Admission is free, and all performances are open to the public.
